Prof. Jekell G. Salosagcol

Professional Background and Civic Involvement

Prof. Salosagcol is a Certified Public Accountant graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from the Technological Institute of the Philippines in 1994. He placed second at the Philippine CPA Licensure Examination in May 1995.

Prof. Salosagcol has extensive experience in auditing and consultancy for over 26 years. Currently, he is a CPA reviewer at the CRC-ACE Review School.

He has also authored and published books: Basic Accounting Theory and Concepts; and A Guide in Understanding the Philippine Standards on Auditing.

He worked as an Auditor from 1995 to 1997 at the Sycip, Gorres, Velayo & Company and was a lecturer at the De La Salle University and St. Scholastica’s College from 1997 to 2002.

Among his professional involvement with various government institutions as member :

  • Committee on CPA Board Examination Syllabus Revision (Board of Accountancy)
  • Committee for the adoption of the Code of Ethics for professional Accountants
  • Technical working group of Philippine Interpretations Committee
  • Committee on Ethics and Quality Assurance Review of Philippine Institute of CPAs

Prof. Salosagcol assisted the Commission on Audit “COA” in the adaptation and implementation of the Public Sector Accounting Standards.

He led the Cooperative Development Authority “CDA” in the development of the Financial Reporting Framework for Cooperatives in The Philippines.

He assisted the Bureau of Internal Revenue “BIR” in reconciling the PFRS rules with the BIR Rules and Regulations.
