Professional Background and Civic Involvement

Mr. Alfonso information technology career spans more than 25 years, including 19 years with IBM and four years with Colgate Palmolive Phils., Inc.

He is the lead partner for enabling technologies covering network application software, systems implementation, integrated software solutions.

Mr. Alfonso has a Masters in Business Administration degree from the Ateneo University Graduate School of Business. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering Degree from De La Salle University and passed the Government Examination for Chemical Engineers in 1965.

Mr. Alfonso was President of Rotary Club of Makati Guadalupe (RY1998-99), member of Jaycees International Senate, Quezon City Capitol Jaycee Senate, Management Association of the Philippines, Genesys (IBM General Systems Users Club), Development Center for the Handicapped Foundation, Knights of Columbus, and Dale Carnegie Club of the Philippines.

Details of Work Experience:

  • Former President of Right Computer Systems, Inc. and Manager of Information Resources at Colgate Palmolive Philippines (1984-1988).
  • Former Member of the Management Committee and the Board of Directors of Right Computer Systems, Inc. and Multinational Computers and Communications Associates, Inc. (MCC).
  • Worked with various government institutions in the study and implementation of computer systems and applications such as the Quezon City Hall and Bacolod City Hall Real Estate Tax Monitoring and Collections System, the Philippine National Bank computerization project and the Philippine Supreme Court Case Docketing System. He was also an IT Consultant to the Land Transportation Office (a government agency attached to the Department of Transportation and Communications) and the Commissioner of the Bureau of Internal Revenue.
